Family Court Facilitator Do's and Don'ts

THE FACILITATOR CAN:

Explain the process if a party has to go to court
-
Identify and help locate forms for DOMESTIC RELATIONS (family law) cases only
-
Help a party schedule court hearings
-
Check paperwork before a party goes to court
-
Help arrange for an interpreter for court appearance
-
Refer to other agencies for extra help parties may need
-
Compute child support per your income figures
THE FACILITATOR CANNOT:
-
Give legal advice
-
Represent a party in court
-
Fill out forms for the party
-
Tell the party what to say
-
Provide assistance in other civil or criminal matters
Appointments with the Family Court Facilitator

Spokane County- Spokane County Superior Courthouse (1116 W. Broadway Ave, Room 200, Spokane, WA 99260).
There is a $25 fee, payable in the clerk’s office (Room 300), to set up an appointment.
The Court Facilitator’s office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to noon and 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Appointments are scheduled daily for 20 minutes each. You may not set your appointment by phone, email or online. We require 24-hour advance notice in order to cancel and/or reschedule an appointment.

The family law calendar for Stevens County is currently set on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m.
There is a $20 fee to set up an appointment with the Court Facilitator for Ferry and Stevens County.
