What areas can a Family Court Facilitator help with?

The Facilitator will assist with the following types of cases:

  • Divorce/Legal Separation

  • Family Law Motions

  • Child Support Modifications

  • Restraining Orders

  • Child Relocation

  • Establishing a Parenting Plan

  • Parenting Plan Modification

  • Minor Guardianship

  • Invalidity/Annulment

  • Parentage

 

Family Court Facilitator Do's and Don'ts

​

THE FACILITATOR CAN:

  • Explain the process if a party has to go to court

  • Identify and help locate forms for DOMESTIC RELATIONS (family law) cases only

  • Help a party schedule court hearings

  • Check paperwork before a party goes to court

  • Help arrange for an interpreter for court appearance

  • Refer to other agencies for extra help parties may need

  • Compute child support per your income figures

 

THE FACILITATOR CANNOT:

  • Give legal advice

  • Represent a party in court

  • Fill out forms for the party

  • Tell the party what to say

  • Provide assistance in other civil or criminal matters

Appointments with the Family Court Facilitator

Spokane County- Spokane County Superior Courthouse (1116 W. Broadway Ave, Room 200, Spokane, WA 99260).

There is a $25 fee, payable in the clerk’s office (Room 300), to set up an appointment.

The Court Facilitator’s office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to noon and 1:00pm to 4:30pm.  Appointments are scheduled daily for 20 minutes each.  You may not set your appointment by phone, email or online.  We require 24-hour advance notice in order to cancel and/or reschedule an appointment.

Stevens County- Stevens County Clerk, 215 S. Oak Street, Room 206, Colville, WA  99114, (509) 684-7575.

The family law calendar for Stevens County is currently set on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m.

There is a $20 fee to set up an appointment with the Court Facilitator for Ferry and Stevens County.

Ferry County- Ferry County Clerk, 350 E. Delaware, #4, Republic, WA  99166, (509) 775-5225, Ext. 2505.

The family law calendar for Ferry County is currently set on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

​There is a $20 fee to set up an appointment with the Court Facilitator for Ferry and Stevens County.
